HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELING
Growth Independence Perseverance Grit Determination Relationships
John F. Kennedy said, “Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.” Taking care to formulate relationships with every student, K-12, the RCS counseling program believes connections with students are the foundation for their success.
Through regular, large-group interactions with students in grades K-8, both character and career development are interwoven into lessons and activities. Grades 9-12 follow a career development path of activities to provide them with the opportunity to explore and learn. High school students are also exposed to character education through speakers and advisor lessons.
Regular student feedback guides the counseling program and allows students to voice their needs in relation to personal/social issues, academic programming, and career development events.
Small group opportunities allow students to work together with a supportive adult guiding them through problem-solving activities, developing skills they can use daily. Individual students are seen on an as-needed basis, and an outside therapist works with students on a more regular schedule.
I am excited to work with ALL students in Riceville Community Schools. If you want to connect with me, feel free to call 641-985-2288 or
