TALENTED & GIFTED
A fundamental premise underlying our democratic way of life is the belief in the intrinsic worth of every individual. It is generally held that education is the vehicle by which every individual may advance toward the realization of his/her full potential. The Riceville Community School District is committed to an educational program that recognizes the unique value, needs and talents of each individual student. The total student population will be considered. It is the policy of the Riceville Community School District not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, creed, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and socioeconomic status.
We are committed to the total development of the child. Providing for students who are identified as gifted and talented should be an integral part of this commitment. It is acknowledged that students who are gifted and talented require appropriate stimulation different from that of the regular educational program. Our district will work toward providing a special program to help meet these students needs and enable them to function effectively in the future.
