School Information

Rich in history of academic and athletic successes.  Riceville School District sits in northeast Iowa.  The current campus serves students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.  The Elementary/Middle school building was built in 1961 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.  The high school was built  in 1975 as the previous building had become to small and outdated for the needs of the district.

The town of Riceville is a farming, rural community with a population of just over 500.  The district serves families from the towns of Riceville and McIntire, Iowa and the surrounding areas.

The history of Riceville School has had lasting implications in the world.  Riceville School was the origination of the famous Brown Eye/Blue Eye exercise by Jane Elliott.  The Vocational Agriculture program has had numerous state and national award winners in Ag related fields.  The athletics program has a long and storied history with state champions in Track and Field, Wrestling, and team State Champions in Football in 1993 and Dual Champions in wrestling 1994.
